I'm a CYBA-certified yacht broker and an avid charterer. I tour the yachts, meet the crews, and have sailed many of the itineraries I recommend, so my advice comes from time on board, not a list of available boats.

Nobody puts this on a website, so here it is. Split across six to ten people, a week on a private yacht lands closer to a nice resort than most people expect. Here is how the three charter styles compare for a seven-night trip in the Caribbean. I specialize in fully crewed yachts, which is what most of my guests book. The other two I quote on request, after a conversation about what your group is really after. And none of these numbers change by working with me. The yacht pays my commission, not you, and the itinerary planning comes with it.
Captain and chef aboard. Every meal cooked for you, the itinerary shaped around your group, and nothing to do but show up. This is what most of my guests book.
A professional captain runs the boat and the route. You provision it and cook for yourselves, eating ashore when the beach bar wins. The best value in the BVI.
A decent-sized catamaran, sailed by you. You need a qualified skipper in your group and a resume to match, or you can hire a crew separately once you have the boat.
Group size. The boat costs what it costs, so eight people pay far less each than four.
Season. Christmas and the spring holidays price highest and book first.
The boat. A newer catamaran with a big flybridge costs more than a well-kept older one that sails just as well.
Where. The Mediterranean adds VAT and runs on a base rate plus APA, so it prices differently than the Caribbean.
Caribbean rates are usually all-inclusive. Plan on a crew gratuity on top of the base rate, and that is the whole picture.

See Elopement PackagesDepends on the type of charter. Captain-only bookings include your skipper, linens, water toys, wifi, and all the standard gear. Fully crewed charters include all of that plus food and beverage, the only additional cost is gratuity.
Crew gratuity, typically 15-20%, given directly to the crew at the end of your week. On captain-only charters, provisions are a separate expense as well, since you're stocking the boat yourselves.
I'll help you build it. Between where you want to go, how your group likes to travel, and what the weather's doing that week, we shape the route together, and your captain fine-tunes it once you're aboard.
Most crewed yachts have their own menus and a preference sheet you fill out before you sail, allergies, favorite dishes, drink preferences, all of it. The crew builds the week around what your group likes.
None. We mostly work with fully crewed yachts, so a professional captain takes care of the sailing and you're a guest for the week. If a bareboat charter is more your speed, reach out and I can help with that too.
Ideally three months to a year out. Holiday weeks go especially fast, and the earlier you book, the more yachts you'll have to choose from.
Not with me. The yacht pays my commission, and the charter rate is the same whether you book direct or through me. What you get is a travel guru in your corner: I know the boats and crews, I shape your itinerary around how your group likes to travel, and the price doesn't change.
